COMME DES GARÇONS
Comme des Garçons, French for “Like Boys”, is a Tokyo and Paris based brand founded in 1969 by Rei Kawakubo. Created a splash for its predominant use of black and distressed fabrics, Comme des Garçons made a bold statement in the clothing that is “not about dress for other people”, but for how they make one feels. By introduced deconstruction, asymmetry and a monochromatic color scheme as the new paradigm of conceptual fashion, head designer Rei Kawakubo's creations remain a challenging, intellectual force that has never left the cutting edge.
